The Overwatch esports scene is continuing to develop, and with it, we begin to see the community bring their own creations into the mix. Ultimate Advantage is Overwatch’s newest podcast led by Dustin “Dogman” Bowerman, support player for Kungarna, a prominent team in the Overwatch Contenders.

Kungarna currently has 2-1 record in Overwatch Contenders, but it's hard to tell whether or not they can repeatedly hold their own amongst the best. Their recent loss against EnVyUs can be forgiven (it's hard to fault any NA team that loses against the currently undefeated EnVyUs), but only if they break the mold and defeat their next contenders opponent, the equally undefeated EnVision Esports.

Dogman's main goal for the podcast revolves around a mission statement.

As a pro player himself with a tendency to pour over the details of strategic play and teams decision making, Dogman is betting that Overwatch fans will tune in to listen in on these types of discussions:

“‘Ultimate Advantage' is a podcast that aims to get professional player/talent/coach insight out to the public.’ I hope to continue with this idea behind the podcast and run with it for as long as I can. There aren't many outlets for pros to discuss and talk amongst themselves, so hopefully, it becomes a regular form of entertainment for Overwatch fans.”

Episode one took place on September 4th with its discussions revolving around NRG Esports, the Overwatch League, and the Overwatch Contenders: topics that the on-air personalities of Jonathan “Reinforce” Larsson, Stefano “Verbo” Disalvo, and Russell “FCTFCTN” Campbell joined to discuss.
 

While the latter three are all guests, they each brought relevance to the broadcast having been part of Overwatch Contenders, Season one. Dogman said, “I have a few guests lined up for our next podcast but with Overwatch League tryouts and whatnot, the availability of our guests varies per week. We plan to have the show run bi-weekly.”
