Unity and the Korea Association of Game Industry (K-GAMES) will host the Unity AI Game Jam—a non-stop 24-hour event creating games using AI technology ahead of G-STAR 2026—and are seeking 55 final participants.
Unity is accepting applications for the Unity AI Game Jam, co-hosted with K-GAMES, from October 12 to October 20 on Unity Square. The event will take place over a non-stop 24-hour schedule from November 18 to November 19 at BEXCO in Busan, right before the opening of South Korea's premier gaming exhibition, G-STAR 2026. Anyone interested in game development and creation—including developers and designers, regardless of job experience or field of study—can apply, though registration may close early depending on volume. Organizers will select 55 participants following a document review, and team formation will be conducted on-site by the participants on the day of the event.
The event was organized to reflect the latest development trends of collaborating with artificial intelligence, giving creators hands-on experience with new production methods. OpenAI and Meshy.ai have joined as official sponsors to provide technical support. Participants can enhance their workflow efficiency by utilizing various AI features, including the Unity CLI and Codex plugin.
Unity will provide each selected participant with $50 worth of credits for its proprietary AI tools. OpenAI will also provide development credits along with on-site mentoring from its engineers, while Meshy.ai, a 3D generative model company, will offer dedicated credits to generate 3D assets from text and image prompts. Depending on the category, top-performing teams will receive benefits including exhibition space for their entries at the Unity booth during G-STAR 2026, a one-year subscription to ChatGPT Pro, and interview opportunities on the official Unity Global and Korea blogs.
Ahead of the event, an open pre-event online webinar will be streamed live on Unity Korea's YouTube channel on October 27. During the broadcast, speakers from the Unity Korea Advocacy Team will detail practical use cases for AI tools, including Unity CLI.
Song Min-seok, Country Manager of Unity Korea, said, "AI is becoming a reliable partner that accelerates the process of bringing ideas to life as games and helps creators make bolder and more diverse attempts. I hope this game jam serves as a platform where Korean developers can challenge new possibilities alongside AI, and Unity will continue to strive to create an environment where anyone can build freely."
