Video game company SEGA has launched a new Sonic the Hedgehog merchandise collection on the Official SEGA Shop, with items including a crewneck, a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt, an enamel pin set and a tote bag.
According to a release, the collection went on sale on September 22nd. The Official SEGA Shop is powered by DPI Merchandising LLC (DPI Merch). The company makes merchandise for video game fans and has worked with Bethesda, BioWare and CD Projekt Red, as well as SEGA.
The launch is part of SEGA's celebrations for the 35th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The original game debuted on the SEGA Genesis console in 1991.
What's in the new Sonic collection
The Sonic: Trick or Treat Crewneck shows what the release called Sonic's 'greatest rivals' on the front. Japanese text and several of Sonic's friends appear on the sleeves.
The Sonic the Hedgehog: Scary Fast! Glow in the Dark Tee features designs that glow in the dark. SEGA pitched the shirt at fans who want to 'race through the Green Hill Zone at dusk or dawn'.
The collection also includes a set of enamel pins of Sonic and fellow series characters Knuckles and Tails, each dressed in a spooky costume. According to the release, the pins are designed for jackets, bags and pinboards. Rounding out the range is a tote bag carrying artwork of a zombie-inspired Sonic behind a gravestone.
