The South Korean LoL national team, aiming for a second consecutive gold medal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, will begin its main tournament group stage schedule on Wednesday, September 30.
Having sharpened its match form with victories over the United States and Vietnam in evaluation matches held in Busan last weekend, the national team's first main tournament match is scheduled for September 30.
The LoL event at this tournament will run from Tuesday, September 29 to Friday, October 2. On the 29th, Group A matches featuring Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, the UAE, and Malaysia will take place first, while Group B, which includes South Korea, will play its group stage on the 30th. Starting with a match against Chinese Taipei at 9:00 AM, matches against India at 11:30 AM and Hong Kong at 2:00 PM are scheduled. Played entirely in best-of-one matches, the team is expected to pass the group stage undefeated. Although Chinese Taipei is a potential threat, barring a major upset, South Korea is expected to advance to the semifinals undefeated.
If they advance through the group stage, the semifinals (Bo3) will take place the very next day on Thursday, October 1. The finals (Bo5) to decide the gold medal will take place at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 2.
The national team boasts a formidable roster including 'Faker' Lee Sang-hyeok and 'Keria' Ryu Min-seok (both T1), 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu (Gen.G), 'Zeus' Choi Woo-je, 'Zeka' Kim Geon-woo, and 'Gumayusi' Lee Min-hyeong (all Hanwha Life Esports). In particular, with fierce rival China absent from this tournament, the prevailing analysis is that winning the gold medal will be significantly easier than at the previous Hangzhou Games.
