Smilegate, together with players of its new MMORPG Eclipse: The Awakening (developed by NPIXEL, hereinafter Eclipse), has set out to establish "Eclipse House," a space supporting young adults preparing for independence. The company plans to expand its support to youth preparing for independence across 32 group homes in the Ansan region in the future.
On September 17, Smilegate delivered a donation to Smile House No. 2 (Children's World Hambakusum) in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province. In cooperation with Ansan City, the company plans to expand the scope of support and continue helping children and young adults in blind spots grow and settle into society.
Eclipse House is a space designed for young adults preparing for independence to experience living on their own before leaving care facilities, thereby developing practical self-reliance capabilities. The initiative will renovate aging independent living quarters, provide home appliances, furniture, and daily necessities, and supply a "First Step Package" containing essential items for self-reliance. It will also run tailored self-reliance capability support programs based on individual circumstances, such as employment, college entrance exams, and professional certification acquisition.
This support was established to help young adults from Smile House attain independence, building on the efforts of Smilegate Hope Studio, which has provided integrated support for protection, healing, and self-reliance since 2016.
The player-participatory Eclipse House donation campaign will run through October 9. Players can participate in donating on Hope Studio's FUNding page.
