Law firm Yulchon LLC (hereinafter Yulchon, Managing Partner Kang Seok-hoon) and the Seoul Esports Association (President Lee Gae-sung) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to foster a healthy esports ecosystem and enhance its industrial and cultural value.
This partnership was established so that both sides can jointly address the various legal and institutional issues arising from the rapid growth of the esports industry. Based on a practical cooperative framework, the goal is to protect the rights and interests of all ecosystem members, including players and industry personnel, from multiple angles. As a result, the Seoul Esports Association has laid the foundation to respond more professionally and swiftly to legal demands coming from the field. Meanwhile, Yulchon will leverage its legal expertise accumulated across diverse industries to help the esports ecosystem take healthy root.
The two organizations will maintain mutual cooperation so that esports can continue to evolve beyond a wholesome leisure activity into a new cultural industry. To build a stable foundation for activities, they will provide unsparing legal support to ecosystem members and expand positive collaboration into areas such as supporting various tournament operations and achieving public interest values.
