Once Human is ushering in a full-scale era of ocean survival with the launch of 'Isles of Abyss' on October 22, its largest new expansion since launching official service in 2024.
The newly added 'Isles of Abyss' is the game's largest update to date, expanding its land-centered, Stardust-polluted world onto the vast ocean. Players will experience all-new survival mechanics across five distinct sea regions, each featuring unique environmental characteristics. Notably, the ocean in the new area is more than just a natural environment; it is an ancient, massive entity known as "The Sunken Lord" that constantly threatens players traversing the waters beneath the fog and lighthouses. A previously released trailer heightened curiosity for the new region by depicting logbook entries and various survival rules left behind by Malla, an enigmatic navigator.
Ship building content, which will serve as the core of ocean survival, is also newly introduced. Players can personally customize and upgrade a wide variety of vessels, ranging from agile small boats to massive sea fortresses. Through detailed ship design, players can tactically respond to unpredictable oceanic hazards and enjoy creative gameplay.
The expansion also features complex exploration elements that allow players to seamlessly transition between land and sea. Beyond surface sailing, players can secure hidden treasures and essential survival resources through deep-sea diving and exploring uncharted islands, pushing their character's growth to its limits while navigating the five perilous sea regions. Officially launching on October 22, this expansion will be offered free of charge across PC, mobile, and consoles—PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S—with full support for cross-play and cross-progression across all platforms.
