LINE Games Corporation is recruiting participants for a Steam playtest of CODE EXIT, a new co-op sci-fi horror PC title developed by Phase 8 Studio and published by LINE Games. The test will run from September 28 to October 19, supporting solo play and co-op for up to four players.
Those who wish to participate can pre-register on the CODE EXIT Steam store page. Applications can still be submitted using the same method after the test begins.
CODE EXIT is a game where investigators tasked with restoring artificial intelligence trace the truth behind the events in a city taken over by a rogue AI. Players can perform missions alone or cooperate with up to four players.
The game delivers psychological pressure using an AI that learns player behavior in real time and sophisticated sound design. It also features a design that does not rely on momentary jump scares and mission layouts that require mutual interdependence among team members.
LINE Games unveiled the first demo at PlayX4 2026 held in May 2026. The demo reached No. 1 on the Epic Games Store's Top Demos list. Afterwards, it participated in the Busan Indie Connect Festival 2026 (BIC 2026) in August and GXG 2026 in September to gather player feedback.
CODE EXIT released a demo on May 20 and is currently in development targeting Early Access in the first quarter of 2027. LINE Games plans to incorporate global player feedback received during this playtest into future development.
