We Were Here Tomorrow will release on October 20, 2026, for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will support cross-platform play at launch, and wishlists have already surpassed 350,000.
Total Mayhem Games revealed the release schedule and a new trailer for the latest entry in the co-op puzzle adventure We Were Here series. In the trailer, Creative Director Martin Mittner introduces the new setting, gameplay, and the evolution of the series.
Nearly 10 years after the original title's release, the series currently boasts five titles and over 15 million cumulative players. The developer stated that the new title will feature the largest adventure in the franchise's history.
In the game, two explorers trapped in a mysterious facility due to an unexpected event must work together to unravel its secrets. As each player sees a different situation and holds a distinct role, they must exchange information over walkie-talkies and make use of their respective high-tech equipment. The game also features asymmetrical puzzles that leverage the laws of time, gravity, and space.
While carrying forward the world and gameplay of the previous series, the new title adds a retro-futuristic setting and fresh co-op mechanics. Set against an imagined 1980s vision of the future, players will explore 'Norcek Industries,' uncovering secrets surrounding its experiments and a missing research team. The environmental design is accompanied by a synthwave soundtrack.
Based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, independent developer Total Mayhem Games debuted We Were Here in 2017. Since then, the studio expanded the franchise by releasing We Were Here Too in 2018, We Were Here Together in 2019, We Were Here Forever in 2022, and We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip in 2023. The studio currently consists of over 40 developers.
