Capcom will end sales of Character Edit Vouchers for Monster Hunter Wilds on December 3. Instead, the feature will be updated starting in 2027 to allow players to change their Hunter's appearance for free and without limit.
Capcom announced its plans to end distribution of Character Edit Vouchers and update the character edit system via official Steam notices and its website on September 16 (local time). The discontinuation of voucher sales and distribution and the introduction of free editing will occur in stages, during which vouchers for changing the appearance of Hunters and Palicoes will be distributed for free.
First, voucher sales and distribution will end across all platform storefronts on December 3. The items to be discontinued include three paid products: 'Character & Palico Edit Voucher: Three-Voucher Pack', 'Character Edit Voucher: Three-Voucher Pack', and 'Palico Edit Voucher: Three-Voucher Pack'. Single-voucher items for the free distribution version and free trial version will also be discontinued.
Upon applying the update on the same day, 10 Character Edit Vouchers and 10 Palico Edit Vouchers will be automatically granted. These will be added to any existing voucher balance. Previously owned vouchers can also still be used after store distribution ends until the feature update in 2027.
Free and unlimited Hunter appearance editing will be implemented starting with the Ver. 2 update, which will be released alongside the massive expansion 'Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance' scheduled for 2027. From then on, players will be able to re-edit their Hunter's appearance without vouchers. This change will also apply to base game players regardless of whether they purchase the expansion.
A separate gift has also been prepared for paid voucher purchasers. Players who previously purchased any of the three paid three-voucher packs mentioned above will receive the 'Special Thank-You Pendant Set'. The set includes the additional pendants 'Archangel Poogiel☆' and 'Archdemon Poogifer★'.
The thank-you pendants will also be automatically claimable after applying the update on December 3. Capcom noted that these pendants may become available separately at a later date.
