Kakao Games is presenting a second-half lineup targeting distinct player bases with MMORPG 'World of Dokkaebi', set for release on October 8, and hack-and-slash action RPG 'Path of Exile 2', scheduled for full release on December 12.
'World of Dokkaebi' is an MMORPG that combines a uniquely Korean worldview with charming pixel art graphics. Instead of fixed classes, it categorizes 12 skill styles into role-based trees, allowing players to swap skills and customize their combat style based on the content. The game is designed to lighten the burden of complex class systems and progression paths, enabling even first-time MMORPG players to easily adapt.
An in-house developed AI chatbot, 'Myorong', also supports gameplay. By comparing a player's play history and growth data with similar player cohorts, it guides missing growth elements and progression directions, while also providing information such as hunting history and currency acquisition and expenditure. Certain features related to clan activities are scheduled to be updated at a later date.
Developed by Grinding Gear Games and published domestically by Kakao Games, 'Path of Exile 2' is a PC online game that launched in Early Access in December 2024. While inheriting the character growth and build customization elements of its predecessor, it features enhanced controls and action mechanics. Players can combine a wide array of skills and equipment to design their character's growth trajectory and combat style.
At Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live, Kakao Games revealed the official launch schedule and the new 'Duelist' class for 'Path of Exile 2' while kicking off global pre-registration. The Duelist features sword-based melee combat and fast-paced action centered on combo attacks.
A Kakao Games official stated, "'World of Dokkaebi' and 'Path of Exile 2' are titles with distinctly different charms, starting from the way they are played," adding, "We are focusing on launch preparations to deliver a polished gameplay experience to players who have been eagerly awaiting each title."
