Arc System Works Asia announced on the 17th that it has launched the downloadable content "Character Pack: Suika Ibuki" for Taito's Nintendo Switch rhythm puzzle game 'Touhou Spell Bubble'.
This character pack features Suika Ibuki, the 11th additional character for 'Touhou Spell Bubble'. Suika Ibuki possesses the ability to fill the 'Ibuki Gourd' to randomly change the colors of bubbles on the board, and can be used in single-player and versus play. The track 'Kagetsuya' by Yonder Voice is also included.
'Touhou Spell Bubble' is a derivative work based on 'Touhou Project'. It combines bubble-shooting puzzle gameplay with rhythm elements; connecting bubbles of the same color triggers a "beat section" where players press buttons to the beat of the music. The game also supports battles utilizing each character's unique abilities and Spell Cards.
The game features a total of 31 'Touhou Project' characters, including 11 additional characters, alongside more than 50 Touhou arrangement tracks. Online play offers Ranked Matches and Private Matches, along with features such as missions and profile editing. A paid Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required for online play.
