Overwatch spent BlizzCon weekend near the top of Steam's charts. Tracking sites logged a peak above 122,000 players and placed the game consistently in the top 10 on Steam's most-played list, with a recorded concurrent spike around 110,000 on Saturday evening. Similar placements occurred for revenue generated, with Overwatch placing in the top four.
For scale, Overwatch averaged roughly 55,000 players on Steam through August. The weekend roughly doubled that. It still sits well short of the platform record of 165,651, set Feb. 10 when the Reign of Talon update arrived.
Two things happened at once. The third wave of the Overwatch x LE SSERAFIM collaboration went live Sept. 12 and runs through Sept. 28, adding Made My Night skins for D.Mon, Freja, Mizuki, Anran, Sierra and Moira, plus returning cosmetics and event challenges. The single itself dropped Sept. 10.

Then BlizzCon. LE SSERAFIM closed the show on Sunday night in Anaheim with a 45-minute set, performing Made My Night live for the first time. The group had already made BlizzCon history in 2023 as the first K-pop act to play the convention, where they premiered "Perfect Night" alongside the original Overwatch collaboration. Blizzard also used the weekend for a wider Overwatch push, including a hero tease and season plans.
The usual caveat applies. Steam is one slice of the audience, and a large share of Overwatch play happens on Battle.net and consoles, where Blizzard publishes nothing. Numbers cited here are snapshots from Sept. 13 to 15 and will have moved since. However, it is an encouraging sign for the game's health, and emphasizes the financial importance of such collaborations.
