Smilegate announced on September 16 that it has launched the first content update for the MMORPG 'Eclipse: The Awakening' (hereinafter 'Eclipse').
The centerpiece of this update is the new RvR (faction battle) content, 'High River Battleground'. Twenty players are divided into two factions of 10 each to battle for 10 minutes. Factions score points by defeating enemy characters and securing kill streaks, with the first faction to reach the target score claiming victory.
The battleground features strategic combat utilizing terrain with varying elevations. Characters that die in battle respawn immediately, and players can join via random matchmaking.
A "Find the Hidden Dodor" hot time event is also running continuously. During the event, gold gain across all areas is increased by 30%. Excluding certain zones, "Dodor" appears in fields at set times, and interacting with it yields a gold box.
Smilegate also implemented improvements previewed during the developer live stream on its official YouTube channel on September 14. The first round of balance adjustments focuses on the survivability of melee classes 'Fighter' and 'Assassin', alongside the addition of a melee dash feature that automatically approaches targets while hunting. Overall gold drop rates have also been increased.
Servers in the new world 'Belzera' will open sequentially. Three servers will open first at 8:00 PM on September 16, followed by three additional servers at 10:00 AM on September 19.
Jaek Shin, Director at Smilegate, said, "We prepared this first update by listening closely to the feedback sent by players since launch," adding, "We will continuously refine our service so players can casually enjoy the thrill of combat in High River Battleground and experience an improved growth environment."
