NCSOFT's MMORPG Throne and Liberty (TL) held a regular update on September 16. In this update, new field bosses Grimturg and Exavis were added to the Nix region. The maximum growth level for equipment was also expanded to Level 90, along with new armor, accessories, crafting recipes, and Lithograph Book entries.
The burden of progression curves and repetitive content has also been eased. The growth success rates for Level 51–80 equipment have been increased and inheritance costs reduced, while the run counts and rewards for Nix Contracts, Challenge Dimensional Circles, and regional field events have been adjusted.
In addition, weapon skill and equipment effect adjustments were implemented alongside a reduction in the PvP hit/evasion gap. Various quality-of-life improvements were also introduced, including an 'Item Auto-Organize' feature that centrally manages automatic dissolving and material transmutation.
New Field Bosses Arrive, Equipment Growth Expanded Up to Level 90
Level 60 new field bosses Grimturg and Exavis have been added to Tumgir Ruins in Nix. The two bosses appear on the same battlefield at different times, and players can participate in Peace, Faction, or Guild combat modes. Grimturg and Exavis have also been added to Guild Contracts.
The maximum growth level for equipment has been expanded from Level 80 to Level 90. Beyond newly added gear, existing equipment previously capped at Level 80 can now also be leveled up to Level 90. Nix Arch and Snowsoul Arch weapons can be grown up to Level 93.
However, reward chests and Red Frost items held prior to the update will only yield equipment up to Level 80. Fifteen new armors and 20 new accessories have been added. Accordingly, rewards for major content—including Nix Contracts and Purification, Radiant Talandre and Nix Arch/Field Bosses, Co-op Dungeons, Phantom Corridor, Challenge Dimensional Circles, Battlegrounds, and Raids—have been updated.
Crafting recipes for the new armor series—Verdigris Pledge, Timeless Resolve, and Azure Vow—have also been added. Crafting requires materials such as Adventure Coin: Indomitable, Shermir's Armor Embers, Precious Magic Powder, and Noble Polishing Crystals.
Ten crafting recipes utilizing Wrathful Skill Cores to craft Relentless Skill Cores were also added. Twenty-two new Lithograph Book entries using 15 new armor pieces and 14 accessories allow players to obtain Trait Unlockstone Fragments, Trait Enchantment Stone Fragments, and various Precious Gems.
Progression Made Easier, Repetitive Play Reduced
Alongside the equipment max level expansion, the burden of existing progression steps has been eased. Growth success rates for Level 51–80 gear have been significantly increased, and the costs required for inheritance have been reduced. These adjustments aim to lower the currency burden on players upgrading existing equipment into the Level 90 range.
Purification results for Red Frost items have also been changed. Epic-grade Red Frost items can now yield equipment up to Level 90, while gear with a maximum item level of 50 has been excluded from the results. Quality-grade Red Frost items will no longer drop or be awarded. For 'Resistance Alliance Contract: Nix,' the weekly purchase limit is reduced to 1, but the reward amounts are doubled. These changes do not apply to previously owned contracts or already accepted contracts.
Cumulative score earned per run in Challenge Dimensional Circles has been raised to 6,000 points. At Stage 6 and above, the base chance for a Golden Chest to appear is increased to 20–40%, with the additional chance from selecting debuffs rising from 5% to 10%. Regional events take place daily at 00:00, 12:00, 18:00, and 21:00. While weekly Regional Contribution Certificates granted decrease from 7 to 3, rewards per event run have been boosted. Players holding Regional Contribution Certificates can acquire up to 250 Trait Unlockstone Fragments depending on the event type.
In Remnants of Nix, Purifying Flame points earned from NPCs and gathering nodes have been significantly increased. For the dynamic event 'Trial of the Beastfolk,' monster damage and target kill requirements have been reduced, while in 'Candle that Melts Eternity,' the boss's movement speed has been lowered. Guild content has gained a 'Recommended Donation' feature, granting bonus rewards on top of standard donation payouts when donating guild-designated resources. The 'Helping Hand' raid reward range has been expanded from just the target player's party to the entire raid.
Staff Elemental Unification, Item Auto-Organize Added
Numerous adjustments were applied to weapon skills, Skill Cores, and equipment effects. The Staff skill 'Elemental Awakening' was revamped from managing Fire, Frost, and Lightning elements individually to collecting a single 'Elemental' gauge. Gathering 7 Elemental charges grants a species damage amplification effect for 6 seconds and reduces the remaining cooldowns of all Staff elemental skills currently on cooldown.
The element re-acquisition lockout duration was reduced from 10 seconds to 5 seconds. Damage for 'Lava Dust' and 'Flame Storm' activated by Elemental Fusion has been increased, with Flame Storm's duration extended from 4 seconds to 6 seconds. For the Staff Skill Core 'Thundercloud Explosion,' the effect that reduced lightning strike frequency to 2 times per second was removed, allowing it to attack 5 times per second. 'Absolute Zero' saw its cast time significantly reduced, while 'Ice Fog' was improved to grant stealth immediately upon entering the area.
The Longbow skill 'Triple Snipe' received faster leap and attack animations. Immunity to Stun, Collision, Bind, Sleep, and Fear now applies during leaps, and the travel distance for the third leap has been increased. Certain equipment effects were also modified. The Longbow gear effect 'Purifying Shout' now includes the caster in its cleanse target list, and its area of effect has been expanded from 25% to 33% of attack range. It can also cleanse the Fear effect inflicted by Winter Storm's Wand 'Dragon's Awe'.
In PvP, stat disparities between Hit and Evasion have been narrowed. The upper limit for Hit and Evasion in Battlegrounds was reduced from 3,000 to 1,500, while the Arena cap was lowered from 2,250 to 1,500. The lower bound for both Battlegrounds and Arenas was set to -1,000.
Item management convenience has also been enhanced. An 'Item Auto-Organize' UI has been added to manage auto-dissolving and auto-transmutation settings in one place. When configuring targets for transmutation and dissolving, players can specify item grade, level, and whether to include storage items. High-value gear can also be protected based on sealability, potential traits, Lithograph Book registration, and trait unlock status. A feature to cancel gear crafting animations using the cancel button or the ESC key was introduced. Other additions include a toggle for the map chat share button, a 'Recommended Growth Build' button reflecting current weapon combinations, and a feature to check crafting applications for shop-purchased materials.
