On the 19th, at Chizzick LoL Park in Jongno, Gen.G Esports defeated kt Rolster 2-1 in the 2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) Regular Season Round 4 Legend Group match. While a 2-0 victory would have secured 1st place, dropping a game guaranteed them at least 2nd place and confirmed their spot in Playoff Round 2.
In Game 1, "Kiin" Kim Ki-in's Olaf seized lane priority from the early game, building a growth gap in the top lane. Although "Cuzz" Moon Woo-chan's Naafiri and "Bdd" Gwak Bo-seong's Twisted Fate managed to shut down Olaf once, "Canyon" Kim Geon-bu's Lee Sin answered with a successful top gank to equalize the kill trade at 1-1.
From there, the game transitioned into a macro-focused battle with no further kills. With Olaf maintaining firm control over the side lanes, macro play became significantly easier for Gen.G Esports, and kt Rolster's towers began to fall one by one. Around the 24-minute mark, after picking off the opponent's jungler and ADC, Gen.G Esports comfortably secured Baron. The global gold lead quickly stretched to 5,000.
Empowered by the Baron buff, Gen.G Esports traded only their Ryze for three kills in a mid-lane teamfight, executing a brilliant turn on the retreating enemy. Gen.G Esports also secured the second Baron, while kt Rolster's attempt to contest cost them additional kills. Immediately charging down the mid lane, Gen.G Esports closed out the game with a clean Ace.
Game 2 followed a different script, with both teams exchanging kills in a fierce contest. kt Rolster began taking a decisive lead when "PerfecT"'s K'Sante scored a solo kill, followed by a double kill in a bot-lane skirmish. They monopolized objectives including Dragons, Void Grubs, and the Rift Herald, while also taking down the mid Tier 1 tower first.
kt Rolster built on their momentum through a fed Nocturne on Cuzz and Syndra on Bdd. Countering Gen.G's attempt to target "Jiwoo" Jeong Ji-woo's Ezreal, kt Rolster won a massive teamfight and took down the bot inhibitor. Securing both the Hextech Soul and Baron, kt Rolster caught and eliminated Ziggs through Ezreal's skill combo during a siege stance, then pushed through with their numerical advantage to seal Game 2.
In the decisive Game 3, kt Rolster took the early lead once again. Starting with a solo kill by PerfecT's Jax, kt Rolster seized the initiative to stack kills in the mid and top lanes. kt Rolster also prevailed in the Dragon teamfight, making a sharp decision to engage aggressively before "Chovy"'s Galio could join the fray.
Gen.G Esports found breathing room by winning a skirmish where Canyon's Skarner was caught first, using the win to claim Baron. kt Rolster answered as Bdd's Ahri hit a sharp Charm to secure a double kill, claiming the next Baron for themselves. Armed with the Baron buff, kt Rolster applied pressure across all lanes simultaneously, taking down all remaining outer towers.
However, Gen.G Esports displayed incredible resilience once more. "Ruler"'s Caitlyn dodged an assassination attempt by Ahri and turned the tables to kill her, spearheading a teamfight victory that secured the third Baron. The Dragon count also leveled at 3-3. Ultimately, in the final teamfight in front of the fourth Baron, Caitlyn was allowed free damage, securing the match victory for Gen.G Esports and bringing the lengthy series to an end.
