The Korea e-Sports Association (President Kim Young-man, hereinafter the Association) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sports Seoul (CEO Kim Sang-hyuk) on Thursday, the 6th, to promote the development of South Korean esports and co-host the 'Esports Awards.'

The signing ceremony took place on Thursday, the 6th, at the Sports Seoul headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, with Association President Kim Young-man, Sports Seoul CEO Kim Sang-hyuk, and other officials from both organizations in attendance.

The two organizations plan to push for the 'Esports Awards' this year and collaborate to develop it into a premier annual ceremony that encompasses all esports titles and the industry as a whole. Their shared goals include ensuring the fairness, professionalism, and public appeal of the ceremony, while expanding media influence among the MZ generation and building a sustainable event IP.

Sports Seoul CEO Kim Sang-hyuk stated, "As South Korea is a global esports powerhouse, we need a representative awards ceremony that highlights its status and achievements, and where the stars who shone throughout the year can be celebrated. Together with the Korea e-Sports Association, we will support the revitalization and industrial growth of esports and join forces to ensure more people can enjoy and cheer for the sport."

Association President Kim Young-man said, "The Association has hosted the Esports Awards for 10 years and has consistently highlighted the achievements and contributions of players through our Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. It is meaningful to be working with Sports Seoul to relaunch the Esports Awards after a decade. We will strive to establish it as an authoritative ceremony that widely promotes the value and accomplishments of esports."
