Microsoft has unveiled the first wave of new titles coming to Xbox Game Pass in August. This update includes a variety of games across multiple genres, including new releases available on day one, as well as multiplayer beta access for the highly anticipated 'Gears of War: E-Day.' Supported platforms, including console, PC, and cloud, will vary by title.

The most notable highlight for users is the 'Gears of War: E-Day' open beta, which begins on August 6. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can participate in the beta without additional purchase, allowing them to experience multiplayer content ahead of the official launch. Microsoft once again emphasized that early access to the latest first-party titles is a key benefit of a Game Pass subscription.

Several titles are also joining Game Pass on their launch day. 'Beast of Reincarnation,' an action RPG developed by Game Freak, is an action-adventure game set in a devastated Japan, featuring fast-paced combat and a companion system. Other titles available to Game Pass users at launch include the action-adventure game 'Echoes of the End,' the unique dating sim 'Date Everything!', and the sports game 'Cricket 26.'

A diverse range of titles will follow throughout August. The lineup includes highly anticipated games such as 'Mafia: The Old Country,' the latest entry in the Mafia series; the medieval European strategy simulation 'The Guild: Europa 1410'; and 'WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers,' a Soulslike action RPG set in the late Ming Dynasty of China. Many of these titles will support Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, allowing for play across various devices.

Additional benefits for Game Pass users were also announced. Subscribers can access in-game items, DLC, and various perks, as well as exclusive member discounts, along with ongoing opportunities for beta tests and pre-launch trials. Microsoft continues its strategy of expanding Game Pass beyond a simple subscription service into a core platform for the entire Xbox ecosystem.

Meanwhile, some titles will be leaving the Game Pass service this month. Before they are removed, members can purchase these games at a discount of up to 20%, allowing them to keep playing even after the titles leave the library. Microsoft plans to continue updating the service catalog by announcing new Game Pass lineups twice a month.
