Global publisher Gryphline announced today that the half-anniversary major update for its 3D real-time strategy RPG, 'Arknights: Endfield,' titled 'Into the Abyss,' will be released on the 16th.

This update features the largest expansion of the main story map since launch, two new playable operators, an expansion of the Integrated Industrial (AIC) system, various new content, quality-of-life improvements, and half-anniversary commemorative events. The new main story regions include the 'Yinglong Gateway,' which has opened for the first time in 10 years since the disaster, and the toxic 'Northern Forbidden Zone.'

In the 'Yinglong Gateway,' players will embark on a journey to reclaim a lost homeland alongside the residents of Wuling, guided by a mysterious entity named 'Si.' The update also introduces a personal equipment system for exploration, as well as new enemies such as 'Shadows of Erosion,' whose emotions and memories are preserved by Aether, and a new boss, 'Alaycreos, the Centurion,' which requires specific combat mechanics to clear.

The new playable operator 'Jue' is the captain of the Wuling Special Mission Unit and a central figure in the main story. As the first Caster operator whose combat style shifts based on the ratio of Intelligence to Willpower stats, Jue can function as a powerful damage dealer or a Supporter for elemental-focused parties.

'Lino,' a rising idol from Lavandorma, is an Electric-attribute Supporter. Using two distinct stances, Lino provides Attack buffs and healing effects, offering stable support for parties with diverse elemental combinations. Additionally, the Integrated Industrial system has been overhauled with new industrial material machines, resources, production facilities, equipment crafting templates, and industrial plans.

Players can now freely convert the state of materials to shorten production cycles and maximize factory efficiency. They will also gain access to a new industrial hub, the 'Yingchuan Construction Base.' Other new content includes the permanent seasonal combat mode 'Echoes of War,' the 2-player co-op event 'Blaze! Competition,' the 'Unknown Zone' for exploring hidden routes, new 'Shadow Milestone' challenges, and six 'Traveler of the Hidden Zone' puzzle maps.

An early unlock feature for new players allows them to experience Wuling region content even while progressing through the main story. Growth-related quality-of-life improvements include simplified equipment crafting and enhanced rewards for operator trials. Further technical updates include an expanded Photo Mode, remote outdoor equipment retrieval, persistent blueprint connection data, improved combat UI and targeting options, and support for DLSS 4.5, PSSR2, and FSR 3.

To celebrate the half-anniversary, players who log in during the event period will receive 3k Oroberyl, 10 Headhunting Permits, and the 6-star weapon 'Farsight.' Additional mail rewards include 2000 Oroberyl and various growth materials. Meanwhile, the 'PICA PC Lounge' event will begin on the 17th, and a collaboration with Frank Burger is scheduled to start on the 23rd.
