The Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) announced on the 6th that it held special lectures on the 2nd and 4th to improve perceptions of gaming and strengthen professional capabilities for prospective industry professionals who will lead the future of the game industry.
The lectures were co-hosted by the GRAC, the Korea Game Policy Society, the Korea Game Science High School, and the Romantic Game Youth Group, with sponsorship from the Korea Association of Game Industry and Tencent. The program was designed to share trends in the rapidly changing game industry with aspiring experts and to foster the correct awareness and practical skills needed to build a healthy gaming ecosystem.
The second lecture on improving game perception, held at the Korea Game Science High School on the 2nd, was attended by 80 students majoring in esports. The session covered the current status and outlook of the esports industry and explored career paths, receiving a positive response for providing vivid, practical advice based on real-world experience.
The third lecture, held on the 4th at the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, targeted 40 members of the Romantic Game Youth Group. It focused on delivering essential practical knowledge for prospective developers, including an introduction to the content rating system, how to apply for ratings, and case studies of rating decisions.
The GRAC expects these lectures to serve as a model for a virtuous cycle of talent development through public-private-academic cooperation. It is anticipated that this will lay the foundation for a qualitatively healthy gaming ecosystem by broadening consensus on the game management system, beyond just the quantitative growth of the industry.
The GRAC expressed hope that these lectures would serve as a clear roadmap for career planning and practical preparation for the future leaders of the game industry. The committee emphasized that it will continue to expand field-oriented policy support and substantive educational opportunities to help young people grow into core professionals capable of navigating the evolving game industry environment.
