A new music collaboration event between Blizzard Entertainment’s team-based shooter Overwatch and J-pop duo YOASOBI will run from tomorrow, July 1, through July 21. The gameplay trailer was released today (the 30th, KST).
This collaboration brings YOASOBI’s signature dynamic storytelling style into the game, alongside a new collection of in-game cosmetic items. Six new Legendary skins have been added, featuring eye-catching visual effects and striking artistic details. Each hero is adorned with neon colors and hard-light designs, accented by bold kanji motifs that celebrate their individual personalities. These new cosmetics include enhanced ambient visual effects, and the dance emotes feature the official music and choreography from this collaboration.

Each skin, infused with YOASOBI’s sophisticated atmosphere and thematic elements, has been meticulously crafted to reflect the spirit and story of the hero. Dragon Star Hanzo, draped in glowing hard-light ornaments and intense kanji details, captures Hanzo as he carries the weight of his past while looking toward the future. Dragon Star Genji expresses the hero’s journey of growth through vibrant colors, custom effects, and a bold style.

Fox Star Kiriko, with her bright and fearless demeanor, is inspired by the connections that keep us moving forward, no matter the distance. Spirit Star Mizuki, a blend of confidence and self-expression, features a premium design characterized by custom lighting, hard-light effects, and a personality that turns the city into her own stage.

Space Star Juno captures the wonder and optimism of a hero who looks to the stars and moves toward an open future, expressed with dazzling visual appeal. Fire Star Anran possesses a calm, confident, and natural sophistication, leaving a strong impression with premium effects and kanji-inspired design elements.
The Overwatch x YOASOBI collaboration centers on the bonds connecting memories, music, and heroes, shedding light on the story of the Shimada clan through Kiriko, Genji, and Hanzo.
It shows how distance, loss, and the long journey back shape the battlefield, exploring what it means to drift apart, hold on, and find one's way again after a long history of conflict through Kiriko’s perspective. Through YOASOBI’s music based on a new short story, an animated music video, collectible cosmetics, and battlefield updates, players will face the past and experience the bonds that the heroes can never leave behind.
