Korea Boardgames announced that it has opened pre-orders for the board games 'Pandemic Legacy: Season 1' and 'Mansions of Madness' through its official online store. The pre-order period runs until May 3, with shipping scheduled for May.
'Pandemic Legacy: Season 1' was first released in 2015, with the Korean edition arriving in 2016. The game utilizes a 'legacy' system, where the results of each session permanently affect the components and rules of subsequent games.
Players spend 12 months—from January to December—fighting to contain a pandemic. As the game progresses, players attach stickers to the board, destroy cards, and open new boxes to add rules. While characters can gain new abilities, they can also suffer injuries and die, rendering them permanently unavailable for the remainder of the campaign. This title is part of a series that includes the subsequently released 'Pandemic Legacy: Season 2' and 'Season 0.'
'Mansions of Madness,' first released in 2016, is set in the world of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. A key feature is the use of a dedicated digital app that replaces the traditional board game moderator, guiding players through the gameplay.
After selecting a scenario, players are assigned investigators and items. The game proceeds by exploring maps, interacting with NPCs, and investigating suspicious areas to uncover the secrets of the scenario. The base game includes four scenarios, with four additional scenarios available via paid DLC. Furthermore, purchasing the 'Path of the Serpent' expansion adds three more playable scenarios.
