A mysterious magical pathway connecting multiple eras of the Warcraft universe is opening soon: Across the Timeways.
When Murozond, the leader of the Infinite Dragonflight, threatens the world, Chromie travels across timelines, past, present, and future, to rally legendary heroes to her cause. Each class features an iconic Warcraft champion such as Sylvanas or Gelbin Mekkatorque, including both familiar figures and entirely new heroes from alternate timelines.
On November 4, 2025, Hearthstone’s next expansion, Across the Timeways, will allow players to wield the powers of Warcraft’s greatest heroes from across alternate realities. Today, Inven exclusively reveals four new Demon Hunter cards that introduce an unprecedented new concept for the class.
The Spell Demon Hunter Emerges
Cards: Lasting Legacy / Solitude
Class: Demon Hunter
Rarity: Rare / Common
Type: Spell
Mana Cost: 3 / 2
Lasting Legacy – Effect: Give your hero +4 Attack this turn. If your deck has no minions, give a minion in your hand +4 Attack.
Solitude — Effect: Discover a minion. If your deck has no minions, reduce the Cost of a minion in your hand by (2).
A new archetype for Demon Hunter appears that prioritizes no minions. All the Demon Hunter cards in Across the Timeways share a unique condition: that your deck has no minions. This mechanic calls for a brand-new way to build Demon Hunter decks focused entirely on spells.
Lasting Legacy is a simple yet efficient spell, granting your hero +4 Attack for (3) Mana—that’s 4 damage by itself, or 5 with the Hero Power on the same turn. If your deck has no minions, it also gives a minion in your hand +4 Attack, letting you bank stats for a future swing.
Solitude pairs naturally with Lasting Legacy. Its effect resembles Mage’s new Semi-Stable Portal in spirit, but instead of summoning, it Discovers a minion; with the no-minions condition, it also reduces the Cost of a minion in your hand by (2), enabling immediate tempo or a discounted high-value play later.
Card: Hounds of Fury
Class: Demon Hunter
Rarity: Rare
Type: Spell
Mana Cost: 4
Effect: Summon two 3/3 Demons. If your deck has no minions, they attack the lowest Health enemy.
Hounds of Fury serves as both board development and removal. Baseline, it summons two 3/3 Demons for (4) Mana. With the no-minions condition, those Demons attack the lowest Health enemy immediately, for up to 6 distributed damage, creating a strong early-game tempo swing.
Card: The Eternal Hold
Class: Demon Hunter
Rarity: Legendary
Type: Location
Mana Cost: 6
Durability: 3
Effect: Get a Demon that costs (5) or more. If your deck has no minions, your next one costs (0).
The Eternal Hold completes the new no-minions Demon Hunter archetype. As a Location, it has 3 Durability and can be activated on alternating turns; each activation adds a random (5)+-Cost Demon to your hand and, with the condition met, sets your next Demon to (0) Cost—which can apply to a Demon already in your hand, not just the one it generated. Over time, it accrues significant value and enables multiple zero-Cost Demon turns.
(Locations spend Durability when activated and have a 1-turn cooldown between uses.)
A New Meta on the Horizon: The Rise of the No-Minions Demon Hunter?
Demon Hunter is already a strong contender in the current meta, with Tempo, Aggro, and even Quest or Space Demon Hunter variants maintaining strong results.
These new cards open a fresh path: a spell-based value Demon Hunter that leans on spell synergies instead of minion aggression.
The new card opens up new possibilities for tempo-oriented Demon Hunter decks, enabling a spell-focused value playstyle. How will Demon Hunter evolve in this new era?
