Spike Chunsoft Inc. is rolling out Kaname Date’s Dreamy Drama Theater, a five-episode chibi-style anime series designed to spotlight key features of its forthcoming detective adventure/puzzle title, No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES. The shorts will debut weekly on Tuesdays starting June 17 and conclude July 15, each offering a playful vignette that hints at gameplay elements.
The opening installment transforms protagonist Kaname Date into a quiz show emcee, guiding four contestants through absurd challenges that underscore the game’s investigative mechanics. Episode 2, premiering June 24 at 10 a.m. PDT, pairs internet idol Iris with her culinary-savvy fan Ota Matsushita in a cooking class that turns unconventional when Iris experiments with bizarre ingredients.

On July 1 at 10 a.m. PDT, Episode 3 casts Date in police mode for a 24-hour policing scenario in which he attempts to breach Ota’s restaurant door, illustrating the game’s tension-building sequences. The July 8 entry at 10 a.m. PDT sends Iris to driving school behind the wheel of Date’s car, leading to a perilous detour that mirrors the title’s blend of puzzle and escape elements. The finale on July 15 at 10 a.m. PDT transports Ota to an alternate realm where he must free Iris from a device resembling the AI-Ball, hinting at the Somnium dreamscape segments.

No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES launches July 25, 2025, on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and Steam. The new installment retains the series’ hallmark “Investigation” and “Somnium” phases—examining crime scenes and venturing into dream worlds—while introducing “Escape,” a fresh puzzle-escape component. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition boasts shorter load times, enhanced visuals and optional mouse support, aiming to deliver a seamless experience for both series veterans and newcomers.
