Lies of P: Overture Considering Battle Difficulty Adjustments

Recently, following the launch of the first DLC Overture for Lies of P, Director Jiwon Choi released a video expressing gratitude and sharing news about forthcoming player-feedback implementations.

Director Choi acknowledged that the surprise release of the DLC may have caught many fans off guard, but he hoped that players welcomed it as positive news. He also expressed deep appreciation for the fact that a large global audience has been enjoying the game since the launch. Choi explained that, since Overture went live, the development team has been methodically examining each piece of feedback submitted by players. He noted that some of the suggestions are already being evaluated for inclusion in an upcoming update.

Main Focus: Battle System Adjustments

  • Key Concern: Combat-related comments have been the team’s top priority.

  • Current Assessment: The team believes there are segments in Overture where encounters play out differently than originally intended.

  • Potential Changes: They are considering adjustments such as reducing overall difficulty and various other tweaks to align gameplay with their design goals better.

Because combat constitutes one of the franchise’s defining experiences, any alterations will undergo detailed development work and rigorous testing. Consequently, specifics regarding patch content and release timing are still under discussion.

Choi stressed that his decision to address combat adjustments publicly was driven by a desire to clarify why these changes require time and to give the community an early insight into the adjustments under consideration. He concluded by reaffirming the team’s commitment to enhancing the player experience as swiftly as possible and thanked the community for their continued support and enthusiasm for Lies of P.
