Nintendo has announced that the final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter adjustments are coming.
In a Facebook post, Nintendo stated that Version 13.0.1 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is "coming soon," including the final fighter adjustments. This means replay data from previous versions will be incompatible, leading Nintendo to urge players to convert their replays by going to the vault before updating.
The news that this is the last update for roster balance has the Super Smash Bros. community buzzing. Many are wondering what changes will occur, knowing these will last for the rest of Ultimate's lifespan. Players are begging for Ganondorf buffs, Sora nerfs, Pikachu nerfs, and MegaMan buffs, among others.
Some have noted that the update is most likely very small, since it ends in .1. It isn't an entirely new version, meaning it could just be some quick bug fixes.
No matter what, Smash players are overall feeling emotional over this being the last update. The fact that no more DLC fighters, maps, or balances will occur after this update drops is quite a shock to the system. Some fans have wondered if in-game tournaments and updates to the campaign mode will still happen in the future. Still, Melee has had no official changes for almost 20 years and the game's competitive scene is still going strong.
Nintendo hasn't announced when this update will drop but it will be in the near future.
