According to a report by Upcomer, following announcements that former-star mid laner Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg has left the TSM organization, it appears that rival LCS organization Team Liquid is one of the leading candidates pursuing him. A signing of Bjergsen to the mid lane would mean current mid laner Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen would roleswap to AD carry.

What this would mean for current Team Liquid AD carry Edward "Tactical" Ra is unknown. The report also mentions that though this is the current plan, nothing is for certain. The news comes after Team Liquid’s exit from the 2021 League of Legends World Championship in the group stage, in which the squad finished 3-3 for the fourth year in a row.

Bjergsen was reported as wishing to return to competitive play, after spending the last season as a coach for TSM. On October 1st, TSM claimed to have made a strong offer to have Bjergsen compete with the team. It was October 28th that Bjergsen told the organization that he would be declining their offer in pursuit of a project with another team.

Parth was noted as stating “While we’re incredibly disappointed, we wish him the best of luck. What this will mean in terms of Bjergsen’s part time ownership of the team is unknown. Bjergsen is prevented from officially signing with any other team until his contract ends with TSM on Nov. 15th.

Bjergsen was the foundation of the TSM organization over the last decade—one of the longest tenures with a single team in the game’s history. While competing in North America, he was widely considered one of the best players in LCS history. In his time with TSM, he became a 6-time LCS champion and 4-time MVP. Internationally he helped TSM become a frequent attendee of the World Championship and became an IEM champion in 2015.
