Warzone Pacific map trailer breakdown: Everything we know

Warzone announced a new map set in the Pacific on Tuesday. While they have not given us any gameplay footage quite yet, they did show a number of preview images from the pre-alpha build of the new map. Here is a quick breakdown of all the new locations we got to see in the trailer for the upcoming map, which will be released alongside vanguard on November 5th, 2021.

Here is everything we learned from our brief look at the Pacific Island map in the trailer.

Verticality will be a key feature of the Pacific Island map

From the scenes they showed us, one thing really stood out about the upcoming Pacific Island map: an emphasis on verticality. While Verdansk has some elevation changes, and the buildings provide a lot of verticality options in the urban areas of the map, the new Pacific Island map promises even more opportunities to use height and elevation to your advantage.

From the very first shot of the trailer, we can immediately see that there is a large mountain in the center of the map. This mountain will provide a perch to survey the area around it, though sightlines will also likely be obstructed by the lush greenery of the map.

Even outside that mountain and rolling hills of the island, the developers showed off other verticality-focused features, like this bridge which overlooks several structures below. It appears that snipers who usually live in the skyscrapers of Verdansk are going to have to adapt and take control of structures like this bridge if they want to get the jump on their enemy.

Caves and tunnels to explore, galore!

In addition to showing off the high  ground opportunities, the new trailer also showed off some low ground opportunities as well. From the look of things, there will be numerous caves and natural archways throughout the map that are open for exploration and occupation.

These underground areas will presumably be useful areas to rotate through for those who are looking to avoid the snipers occupying the hills above. There even appear to be some tunnels that can be utilized in the map, based on a brief shot in the trailer where the camera is coming out of a tunnel near a mining operation on the island. This would be consistent with tunnel structures that were discovered on many of the islands that Japan occupied during World War 2.

Lush jungle warfare awaits!

If we are being honest, Verdansk lacks much forestry at all. Sure, there are some wooded hills here and there, but nothing that will compare to the lush, tropical greenery of this Pacific Island map.

While it's hard to judge from just a handful of scenes if I had to guess it's going to be a lot easier for people to disappear and conceal themselves in the thick underbrush and dense forestry of this island. So this map might be a paradise for stealth players, who like to take their enemy unawares and conceal themselves using their environment.

For the city fighters out there, there are still some structures to use around the map. The trailer showed off at least one area that features a large commercial sign saying "Royal". It is unclear what the sign is advertising, but it appears to be located near some other buildings.

However, these populated areas appear to be few and far between, so get ready for some serious jungle warfare on this map.

Where there is water, will there be boats?

There is clearly water involved on this Island map. Does that mean we will get to use military boats?

Verdansk features a few different vehicles, including trucks and some smaller military-style vehicles as well. We might see the return of some of those vehicles, but with so much water it seems likely that players may be able to rotate around the island in boats! That said, they did not reveal any boats in the trailer, so this is not confirmed.
