Coming this fall is a Legends of Runeterra event unlike any other in the game's brief history.

Announced on Tuesday morning by Riot Games, the Legends of Runeterra World Championship will feature the best players from around the world in an event with hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line. Shared in a post on the game's official website, the event will take place in September and competitors will have numerous ways to qualify.

Dozens of players from the Americas, Europe, and Asia will be able to compete for only a handful of seats in the finals. According to Riot, players can qualify in three different ways based on their performances in Seasonal Tournaments and their ladder ranking. In order to secure enough points to be considered for the qualifying event, only players who finish each season in Master will be considered.

Riot Games will retroactively award points to players based on their performances in the current season, Monuments of Power and Cosmic Creation seasons.

As the event approaches later in the year, more information will be shared as well as where players can view how many points they currently have, how many players in their region have and the prize pool breakdown.
