kt Deft: "I will prove my worth with action."

On March 9th (KST), KT Rolster defeated bbq Olivers with a 2-0 record in the first match of Day 27 LCK Spring Split 2017. Hyukgyu "Deft" Kim showed what it means to be one of the best AD carry in the LCK by dealing significant damage to bbq in teamfights.

Here is our post-match press interview with Hyukgyu "Deft" Kim.

Congratulations on your win today. How do you feel?

I still think about how we've lost against SK Telecom T1. I had to put in some effort to focus on today's match. I'm glad that we've managed to break the losing streak.

The series against SKT could have gone better. What do you think went wrong?

We decided to go with compositions that should allow us to snowball based on the advantage we've got from the laning phase. However, we lost our chance to snowball because we've made too many mistakes. That's why the games became more difficult for us over time.

You've had some trouble against bbq in Game 1.

We've again made too many mistakes that cost us our early game advantage. However, we still managed to win because our composition was stronger in teamfights.

The teamfight around the Baron spawn in Game 2 was very fierce.

Despite us being in a bad position, I thought it was possible for us to win at the end as long as we played perfectly. Thanks to Ahri stalling the enemy team, Ashe's Enchanted Crystal Arrow managed to come off cooldown during the teamfight. I think that's why we managed to win.

Your next match will be against ROX Tigers. How will you prepare for the match?

We have some time before the next match, so we'll make sure to prepare well enough so that we can win decisively.

You are often considered to be one of the strongest botlane duo. How was the laning phase today?

I've been practicing the laning phase a lot together with Mata. However, my trade was not very good today. I'll have to do better in that regards.

Can you tell us what you think of your own performance recently?

Since all of my teammates are very good, I've been just trying to do well enough rather than trying to carry the game. I think that's why I haven't been doing so well lately.

Thank you for your time. Any parting comments?

Although we've been defeated by SKT, I'll try my best to will all of the remaining matches. Some of my fans have been rather vocal about how good I am. Although I'm grateful to those fans, I want to say that it won't be necessary. I will prove my worth with action. Thank you for always cheering for me.
