In the second quarterfinals match of the 2020 LoL World Championship, Suning Gaming faced off against JD Gaming, a team that many predicted to be one of the favorites to win the tournament. However, with a set score of 3-1, SN defeated JDG and now await the winners of the TOP Esports vs Fnatic in the semifinals. It’s a momentous occasion for the team, as it’s been 796 days since they last defeated JDG. The top laner for SN, Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin joined Jeesun Park for a post-match interview on the LCK broadcast.

Congratulations on the victory. How does it feel to defeat one of the tournament favorite teams, JDG, 3-1 and head to the semifinals?

I’m very happy that we won tonight, and I’m still shaking from the excitement. We couldn’t beat them once during the regular season, so it makes me even happier that we won tonight.

As you said, SN couldn’t take a single victory during the regular season, and many people predicted JDG’s victory over SN in this series. What was the driving force behind tonight’s victory?

We were full of confidence tonight, and we were all stress-free, so I think those two aspects played a huge role in our victory.

It seemed like the team was growing as the series went on. What feedback did the team receive after game 1?

There were so many things that we could’ve done better in game 1, so the coaching staff told us to just prepare ourselves well for the next game.

You picked Gangplank from game 1 to 3, and it’s a pick that’s not really considered to be a meta pick at the moment. Why did you decide to play Gangplank tonight, and how did SN prepare its drafts against JDG?

Gangplank is a pick that everyone on the team thought was the most optimal to play against JDG.

TES and FNC will be facing off tomorrow. Which team would you like to face, and can you also share your resolution for the semifinals?

Obviously, I’d like to play FNC in the semis, because they’re easier opponents than TES. We’ll make sure to prepare well for the semifinals to win the tournament.
