Com2uS (CEO Nam Jae-kwan) announced on the 24th that it has launched the third installment of the update series celebrating the 20th anniversary of its mobile MMORPG, 'IMO'.
As Korea's first mobile MMORPG, 'IMO' is a landmark title that debuted on feature phones in 2006 and celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. It has long been loved by global fans for its charming pixel art, retro aesthetic, and focus on PvP and cooperative play. Recently, the game has undergone major system optimizations, including an engine upgrade, foreign language translation on the 'Ganesha' server, and the addition of a PC version, as it leverages its 20-year history to prepare for a new phase of growth.
Following the second update, this release introduces a wide array of new content. First, the 'Donguri's Counterattack' event will run until May 14, allowing players to exchange items obtained from hunting monsters for a limited-edition 'Donguri Back Ornament Costume.' During the same period, the 'Please Soothe the Surprised Sumguri!' event will be held, where players can find the NPC Sumguri to receive an EXP buff. Additionally, until May 28, the 'Collect Donguri's Hearts!' event will keep the festive atmosphere alive by offering opportunities to earn various items, including the 'Donguri Hat' event costume and '20th Anniversary Event Tokens.'
Support events to help players level up their characters quickly are also underway. Through the 'Rok's Equipment Rental' event running until May 28, players can receive powerful +7 weapons, helmets and armor for levels 40 and above, and gloves for the Mage class. By allowing players to rent these upgraded equipment sets at no cost, the event supports a more stable and enjoyable adventure experience.
Convenience improvements based on active user feedback have also been implemented. A Google login feature has been added to improve account accessibility and login convenience, and a new gold deposit/withdrawal function for the warehouse now allows for free asset transfers between characters without fees. Furthermore, the usage range for 'B-Grade Stamps' has been expanded to levels 1–29, and the play environment has been optimized based on user suggestions, such as making the first weekly guild mission reset free and adding detailed descriptions to missions.
In addition, the third 14-day attendance event, 'Wishing for Everyone's Festival,' will run until May 14, offering rich rewards including 'Equipment Stamp B' (on day 7) and 'Equipment Stamp A' (on day 14). During the same period, a 'Star-Shaped Glasses' crafting and dyeing event will be held. Following the new 'Seekers of Time (Part 2)' rare costume, weapon and back ornament packages for Isaac and Skygear will be available in the shop until August 27.
Meanwhile, 'IMO' is using this update series to reflect on the significance of its 20th anniversary while boosting user satisfaction. Com2uS plans to continue providing a service that resonates with its users through ongoing content updates and close communication.
Detailed information regarding this update and the events can be found on the official 'IMO' Hive page.
