South Korea's PUBG Mobile national team will compete in an online evaluation tournament ahead of the Asian Games. A total of 12 teams, including national rosters and domestic and international participants, will take part, with matches broadcast live via official channels.
Krafton (CEO CH Kim) announced that it will co-host the "Asian Games PUBG Mobile National Team Evaluation Tournament" alongside the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA).
This evaluation tournament serves as a practical stage for the South Korean national team to assess their performance and teamwork prior to competing in the Asian Games. The national team will prepare for the main event by playing in a competitive environment similar to actual international tournaments.
The evaluation tournament will be held online across two phases. The first phase will run from September 5 to 6, and the second phase from September 12 to 13, with matches starting daily at 7 PM.
Each phase consists of a total of 12 matches, played at six matches per day. The match maps will feature four matches on Erangel followed by two matches on Miramar per day. The standard PUBG Mobile esports point system combining placement points and kill points will be applied.
The tournament will adopt a 12-team format identical to the Asian Games. Participants include national teams such as South Korea, China, and Chinese Taipei, alongside teams participating in the Korean Esports League (KEL).
The South Korean national roster includes Kim Jun-ha ('XZY'), Park Sang-chul ('FAVIAN'), Song Su-an ('NolBu'), Jeon Hyun-bin ('HYUNBIN'), and Jeong Yu-chan ('chpz'). Through this evaluation tournament, the players plan to gain practical experience at an international competition level and check the team's overall strength.
Matches will be broadcast live on the official PUBG Mobile Esports YouTube and TikTok channels, as well as the official Korea e-Sports Association YouTube and SOOP channels. Further details about the tournament can be found on the official PUBG Mobile Esports channels.
