Busan Indie Connect Festival 2026 (hereinafter BIC 2026), where attendees could discover numerous indie games again this year, came to a close on August 28 with the conclusion of its online festival.

BIC 2026 was held both online and offline. The online festival ran from August 7 to 28, while the offline festival took place from August 14 to 16 in Hall 2 of BEXCO Exhibition Center 1.

The online festival took place via the official BIC website, where visitors could enjoy unlimited access to the showcased games for 22 days with a single online exhibition ticket. Online-exclusive titles not available at the offline event were also on display.

Following the conclusion of the online festival, the top 3 indie games across downloads, views, and reviews were revealed. The most downloaded game was Banjiha Games' Cold Cases. Cold Cases is a mystery investigation game where players restore eight past cases at burned crime scenes, receiving strong acclaim and winning the Experimental award at BIC 2026.

The second most downloaded game was Inquisitor Shepherd, a visual novel mystery detective drama developed by Narrowdeep. The third most downloaded title was Min & Insoo's puzzle game Reverie.

The game recording the highest number of views was Return True's Video Editor. Inspired by various video editing software, Video Editor is a puzzle-platformer. The game stands out for its unique gameplay mechanics that simulate actual video editing, such as recording movement into clips within time constraints and adjusting them. Cold Cases took second place, followed by PepperStones' cafe management simulation HIPS N NOSES in third.

Finally, the game with the most reviews was Wolsang Studio's Witch's Lounge. Witch's Lounge is a rail-based rhythm game where players draw magic circles in time to the music, which won Excellence in Audio at BIC 2026. HIPS N NOSES claimed second place, while Newcore Games' action roguelike 7Trials placed third.

As of the 30th, players can try demos or participate in playtests on Steam for most of the games that reached the top 3 in downloads, views, and reviews during the online festival.
