Evil Raptor and Fireshine Games announced on August 27 that they have launched 'Frostburn,' a major update for the co-op PvE shooter 'Far Far West,' on PC via Steam.
'Far Far West' is a 1–4 player co-op shooter set in a Western world where guns and magic collide. Players explore various regions, battle enemies, and complete quests while combining weapons and 'Jokers' to customize their combat style.
This update adds 'Hellfire,' a new lava and volcano-themed region. Meteors periodically fall during gameplay while the central volcano erupts, accompanied by three new quests and one hidden element.
A new Ice element and Shield system have also been introduced. The shield absorbs incoming enemy attacks via a separate gauge and fades over time. Depending on the combination of Ice magic and Jokers, the shield can be utilized for offensive play or recovery.
There are five new Ice spells: 'Cube,' which turns oneself or an ally into a block of ice; 'Ice Lance,' which creates an ice path; 'Breeze,' which freezes enemies in front; 'Glaze,' which consumes shields to deal damage to nearby enemies; and 'Blizzard,' which attacks enemies within range while providing shields to allies.
New melee weapons include 'Knuckle Dusters,' 'Lasso,' and 'Banjo.' All three weapons support upgrades and customization, with each having its own dedicated Joker. Among them, the Banjo allows players to build charges through attacks and restore health for themselves and nearby allies.
A 'Lighthouse' system that aids exploration has also been introduced. Once players complete a Lighthouse platforming puzzle, key points of interest in the region are marked on the map. Three new quests and one hidden element have also been added to the existing Jungle region, along with new player skins and Jokers.
