1C Game Studios has confirmed that the early access release date for its new combat flight simulator, 'IL-2 Sturmovik: Korea,' is set for June 25.

The early access launch coincides with the anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War. The game covers the aviation history of the era, when piston-engine aircraft clashed with the first generation of jet fighters, and depicts aerial combat over the Korean Peninsula.

The developer, 1C Game Studios, is a Russia-based game developer and publisher. Since launching its first project, 'IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad,' in 2014, the studio has released over 30 expansions and modules for the franchise. It has also published the online tactical shooter 'Caliber' and the roguelite deck-building game 'Deathless: The Hero Quest.'

This new title is the first in the 'IL-2' series to feature full controller support. Players can choose to participate as a standard pilot or take on the role of a strategist, leading a flight regiment, setting flight paths, and managing personnel and aviation logistics through the career mode.

The map of the Korean Peninsula is the largest in the series' history, spanning over 200k square kilometers. Based on historical maps and documents from the 1950s, it reflects key geographical changes of the era, such as coastal reclamation and shifting shorelines. The map includes dozens of airbases placed according to historical records, as well as hundreds of strategic targets such as settlements, ports, dams, and transportation hubs.

The eight aircraft, recreated based on actual blueprints and historical photographs, feature fully functional cockpits where every instrument reflects the aircraft's system status in real time. Flyable aircraft include the MiG-15bis, IL-10, Yak-9P, La-11, F-86A-5 Sabre, F-51D Mustang, F-80C-10 Shooting Star, and F-84E Thunderjet.

The damage model operates with precision, accounting for mass, velocity, and impact points, applying realistic damage to all objects on the battlefield, including strategic bombers, ground vehicles, trains, and ships. A new 'Museum Mode' provides development and combat histories for each vehicle, along with cockpit inspections and technical specification comparison charts.

Pre-orders are available on the official website in two versions: Standard Edition and Founder's Edition. The Founder's Edition includes pre-order content and a Year 1 DLC pass that grants access to five additional aircraft. The current pre-order prices are $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $139.99 for the Founder's Edition.

Following the early access launch, prices will increase to $89.99 and $149.99, respectively. Pre-order customers will receive two collector aircraft and exclusive skins. The full release date for 'IL-2 Sturmovik: Korea,' expected in 2026, will be announced at a later time.
