Netmarble (CEO Kim Byung-kyu) announced on the 23rd that it has released the first major update for its open-world action RPG, 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin' (developed by Netmarble F&C), featuring the addition of the new hero 'Escanor' and the unveiling of Main Story Act 13.

The newly added 'Escanor' is a member of the original 'The Seven Deadly Sins' series and is considered one of the most powerful characters in its universe. Wielding the magic power 'Sunshine,' he is known for his contrasting personality: arrogant and boisterous during the day, but humble at night.

In-game, Escanor wields an axe, a greatsword, and a sword-and-shield, delivering exhilarating action with high attack power and the ability to inflict burn effects on enemies. To celebrate the character's release, Netmarble has also updated the game with his exclusive engraved equipment and his signature sacred treasure from the original series, 'Divine Axe Rhitta.'

Main Story Act 13, 'The Rising Sun Again,' has been added. The story follows Meliodas and Hawk, who, after realizing through Tristan that they are in the future, encounter 'Galand' of the Ten Commandments while searching for their companions.

Along with this, a new area called the 'Beautiful Gluttony Tavern' has been introduced. Located south of the Vanya Plains, this mysterious space adds to the fun of open-world exploration by offering unique resources such as new gathering items, cooking ingredients, and minerals.

A new boss challenge featuring 'Galan' has also been added. Galan possesses a unique mechanic where he periodically imposes a 'Commandment' on players; if a player performs a forbidden action while under this effect, their character will be petrified and lose health. Notably, clearing the Hell difficulty level allows players to obtain the 'Mad Eye,' a material required to craft the legendary weapon 'Soul-Eating Axe.'

Netmarble is hosting a variety of events to celebrate the update. Through an attendance event running until the 13th of next month, players can earn the mount pet 'Arrogant Mustache Hawk,' the flying pet 'Wise Big Hoho,' and 'Pickup Hero Summon Tickets.' There is also an event where players can try out the new hero 'Escanor' and complete challenges to receive 'Star Fragments' and 'Supreme Mastery EXP.' Furthermore, content and system improvements for returning players have also been implemented.

'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin' is a multi-character open-world RPG based on the popular manga 'The Seven Deadly Sins,' which has sold over 55 million copies worldwide. Players can freely explore the continent of Britannia and enjoy diverse strategic action, including hero-tag combat and powerful combined attacks.
