Akatsuki Games, TOHO and Production I.G have announced a new content update for Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, adding a game-original ★5 character and expanding the mobile and PC title’s ongoing main story campaign. The update coincides with new in-game events, gacha reruns and a limited-time login campaign tied to the latest story chapter.

The featured character, [Negotiator of Wit and Charm] Wang Meixing, appears as both a playable ★5 unit and a central figure in Chapter 7 of the main narrative. According to the developers, the character is portrayed as a negotiator working within the CLOZER organization, with story sequences that connect to political and military responses to Dimensional Kaiju incidents.

Chapter 7, titled “King of Kaiju Interception Ops,” shifts the setting to Dubai, where a new Dimensional Gate triggers an unexpected snowstorm and draws members of the Defense Force and Fourth Division into a confrontation with Kaiju No. 6. The update continues character arcs involving Kikoru Shinomiya, Reno Ichikawa and Kafka Hibino, while tying the new storyline to earlier events in the series.

Update Details

To mark the chapter launch, the game is running a New Chapter Event featuring Score Battle challenges that reward players with items including Dimensional Crystals. A separate login campaign offers up to 10 Pickup Gacha Tickets and additional resources for players who sign in during the promotion window.

The update also brings multiple gacha-focused initiatives. These include an 8 Free Pulls Daily Gacha campaign, reruns of earlier Reno Ichikawa and limited Sagan Shinomiya pickup banners, and a paid ★5-guaranteed gacha with a restricted number of pulls. The rerun banners feature returning characters and weapons previously available for limited periods.

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is available on iOS, Android and Steam, and supports several languages including English, Japanese and Chinese. The title is based on Naoya Matsumoto’s Kaiju No. 8 manga and anime franchise, which follows Defense Force units tasked with combating recurring kaiju threats. The developers said the Chapter 7 update continues their effort to expand both gameplay content and story material for existing players across platforms.
