Former CS:GO player Sam "DaZeD" Marine has joined T1's VALORANT team as its fourth member. T1 is still in the process of rebuilding, after parting ways with Austin "crashies" Roberts and Victor "food" Wong in September.
DaZeD is perhaps most known for being part of the iBUYPOWER CS:GO team that was permanently banned from Valve-sanctioned tournaments due to its involvement in the NA match-fixing scandal of 2014. With no opportunities to compete in high-profile events, the Majors included, the former iBUYPOWER players searched for other games and eventually found their way into VALORANT.
Three of the ex-iBUYPOWER squad have already joined T1 VALORANT. Braxton "brax" Pierce and Keven "AZK" Larivière were the first players signed to T1, and Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham (who isn't permabanned by Valve) joined in June. The fifth, Joshua "steel" Nissan is currently a member of 100 Thieves' VALORANT team.
T1 needs one more player to complete its roster and return from their hiatus which has lasted since late August. Besides placing second in the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Showdown behind TSM, T1 also doesn't have other premier finishes and their other three Ignition Series showings have ended with top 8 placements.
