On the 18th, Pawprint Studio released the latest in-game footage for 'Animo,' its cross-platform open world monster-catching RPG currently in development. The video highlights the game's immersive open world and intricate interactive elements.
Set in the fantasy world of the 'Aidel Continent,' 'Animo' follows players as they become adventurers, bonding and growing alongside mysterious creatures known as 'Animo.' The game organically integrates exploration, combat, and training within a vast world that blends natural ecosystems with urban lifestyles.
This video highlights the graphic detail and unique world-building powered by Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). The world’s vibrancy is enhanced by sophisticated physics, such as reflections and refractions on object surfaces during rain, and realistic water ripples created while traversing through water.
The video also unveils 'Astra,' a futuristic city where advanced technology meets refined landscapes. In this vibrant, colorfully designed space, players can use skateboards to zip through plazas and city streets for high-speed exploration. Smooth motion capture and seamless environment transitions emphasize that the city itself is a stage for vivid interaction.
The city's diverse living spaces serve as hubs for players to gather and interact. In 'Astra,' users can relax with their Animo or socialize with others, experiencing expanded play value that goes beyond simple hunting to encompass lifestyle content. The fusion of fantasy aesthetics with an urban open world promises a fresh gameplay experience.
The action mechanics are also highly polished. With over 200 types of Animo, each featuring unique skills and distinct combat animations, players must strategically form teams to handle real-time battle situations. The game emphasizes the joy of control through fluid animations and precise impact.
'Animo' prioritizes deep emotional connection with creatures over mere collection. Players explore the world by observing the unique habits and ecological behaviors of Animo, with a real-time weather system further enhancing the level of immersion.
The Pawprint Studio development team stated, "This in-game footage is a significant milestone in demonstrating the open world immersion and vivid interactions that Animo aims to provide. We hope players will experience the warm and dynamic adventures of Animo for themselves in our upcoming test."
Meanwhile, 'Animo' is currently accepting applications for its Closed Beta Test (CBT) and pre-registrations via its official website. The game supports a multi-platform environment across PC, mobile, and console, with plans to enable seamless, barrier-free play across PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
