'This War of Mine,' the debut title from Polish developer 11 bit studios—the studio behind 'Frostpunk' and 'The Alters'—is being remade. The original game gained global acclaim for its realistic portrayal of the horrors of war.

On the 21st (local time), 11 bit studios announced the remake in a statement accompanying its 2025 annual report and financial statements. Currently in development under the project name 'P15,' the title joins 'Frostpunk 1886'—a previously announced remake of 'Frostpunk'—on the studio's list of upcoming remakes.

11 bit studios CEO Przemysław Marszał stated that the company recognizes the value of its existing brands. He added that both 'Frostpunk 1886' and 'P15' are not simple remasters, but complete modern reinterpretations built from the ground up, with years of development and community engagement in mind.

According to the announcement, 'P15' is being built using Unreal Engine and is targeting a release between 2028 and 2029. While specific details were not disclosed, the studio noted that the 'This War of Mine' remake will feature new content and mechanics designed to provide a fresh experience.

Released in 2014, the original 'This War of Mine' explores war from the perspective of civilians and is known to be set during the Bosnian War of the early 1990s. Unlike typical war games that focus on heroic combat, the game earned critical and player acclaim for its depiction of desperate survival in a ruined city and the conflicts between people living in a lawless urban landscape.
