G2 Esports is expanding its presence in regional League of Legends competition through a new partnership with NORD Esports, unveiling a jointly operated team that will compete in Germany’s Prime League as part of the DACH EMEA Regional League system. The project, called G2 NORD, is framed as both a competitive initiative and a development pipeline intended to elevate local talent while strengthening the organization’s ties to its German fan base.
The team will operate as a high-performance environment with access to professional coaching and infrastructure, according to the organizations. G2 NORD will also be backed by insurance company LVM Versicherung as a founding partner, supporting what the parties describe as a long-term investment in Germany’s esports ecosystem.
Tolkin, a prominent German League of Legends streamer, will serve as team president and help connect the project’s competitive efforts with community-focused content and outreach.
Partnership Details
The collaboration brings G2 back into a German-based ERL lineup while building on NORD Esports’ recent experience in regional competition. NORD has competed in the Northern League of Legends Championship and has been active in staging community tournaments and showcase events. Leaders from both organizations said the initiative is intended to re-energize domestic interest while positioning the team as a contender at the EMEA Masters level.
G2 NORD’s debut roster blends established veterans with developing players. The lineup features Francesco “Shelfmade” Cardia in the top lane, Mark “Markoon” van Woensel in the jungle, Alex “Toasty” Chea in mid, Khalil “Rin” Sahraoui as AD carry, and Timo “Tockimo” Bock at support, with Nicolas Perez named head coach. The team is expected to compete immediately in the upcoming Prime League season.
Executives from G2 and NORD characterized the partnership as part of a broader, forward-looking strategy following G2’s 10-year anniversary, emphasizing sustainability, talent cultivation, and closer engagement with regional audiences. The organizations said additional announcements regarding competitive plans, content initiatives, and fan activations will be shared ahead of G2 NORD’s first matches.
The launch underscores a growing focus on structured development pathways within Europe’s regional leagues, where academy-style teams increasingly serve as stepping stones for players seeking to advance into top-tier international competition.
