Hanwha Life Esports defeated Gen.G 2-0, bringing their record to 5-1.
On the 18th, Hanwha Life continued its winning streak by securing a clean 2-0 victory over Gen.G in their Round 1 match of the 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) regular season, held at LoL PARK in Jongno.

The early game of the first set was evenly matched, save for Hanwha Life securing the first dragon. During the next dragon spawn, a 5v5 teamfight broke out; 'Delight's' Rell engaged effectively, leading to a teamfight win and a second dragon stack for Hanwha Life.
Gen.G attempted a bottom lane play using Bard, but Rell countered perfectly, allowing Hanwha Life to pick up two kills. Hanwha Life continued to defend well. In a mid-lane skirmish, 'Kanavi's' Jarvan was caught in a dangerous spot but managed a brilliant escape, completely turning the teamfight around and securing a major victory for Hanwha Life.
Hanwha Life comfortably secured the Baron and the Dragon Soul to take control of the game. 'Zeka's' Aurora dealt massive damage, proving pivotal. Although Hanwha Life's over-aggression under the twin towers stalled their push, and Gen.G managed to find an opening during the next Baron attempt, Hanwha Life dominated the subsequent teamfight and destroyed Gen.G's Nexus at 29 minutes.
In the second set, Gen.G's 'Canyon' on Pantheon executed an early bottom lane gank, diving and cleanly taking down 'Gumayusi's' Yunara. This successful gank gave Gen.G a significant advantage in the bottom lane, leading to a large CS gap and an uncontested first dragon.
With Gen.G leading the laning phase, Hanwha Life desperately needed 'Kanavi's' Vi to step up. They managed to create a favorable setup in the fight for the Void Grubs, winning the skirmish. While Gen.G fell behind in jungle growth, they utilized mid lane priority to secure two dragon stacks.
Hanwha Life committed three players to take down 'Chovy's' Akali. Seeing an opening in the mid lane, Gen.G used Ashe and Seraphine to destroy the first mid turret and take the Rift Herald. Gen.G showed their intent by using the Herald on the dragon pit, while Hanwha Life opted to concede the dragon stack in exchange for gold. A fight broke out between Rumble and Ambessa, but Hanwha Life’s faster rotation allowed them to come out ahead, giving them a slight gold lead.
At the next dragon spawn, Gen.G successfully picked off Yunara early, but Hanwha Life's Rumble, Yone, and Vi cleaned up the extended fight, winning the teamfight and securing their first dragon. However, Gen.G won the following teamfight.
After both teams reset, Hanwha Life quickly gathered at Baron and took it before Gen.G could arrive. Gen.G responded by cleanly repelling an attack in the bottom lane, winning the teamfight and securing the Dragon Soul. In the next teamfight, Yone made a super play, taking down everyone except Seraphine and Ambessa. Gen.G's 'Kiin' on Ambessa risked everything to clear the wave and prevent the game from ending. However, Hanwha Life dominated the final mid teamfight, closing out the series with a 2-0 victory.
