On the 30th, at the Seoul LoL Park, Day 20 of the 2019 LCK Summer Split took place. On the second series of the day, Griffin defeated Kingzone DragonX with a perfect score of 2-0. Throughout the series, Sword played his role flawlessly to contribute to his team's victory.

The following is an interview with GRF Sword.

You'll soon compete in your very first international tournament, Rift Rivals. How do you feel about it?

RR is an international tournament, but I'm trying to view it as something light. If I feel too pressured about it, I may underperform.

As the team captain, are you keeping your teammates in check?

Not really. I'm the one that's the most excited about it. My teammates are the ones keeping me in check.

What are you most excited about?

The fact that I'll be playing against teams from the other regions. It's a great opportunity to experience something different.

Which specific team or player are you most looking forward to playing against?

I want to play against iG's TheShy. He's really famous. I want to see how I'll do against him. I don't really care who wins - I just want to see how he plays the game. I'm also curious whether or not I'll lose or win against him in lane.

Is there a team or player that you're watching out for?

I think FunPlus Phoenix will be formidable. Their playstyle is very unique, and they play a wide range of champions and compositions - DoinB and the team's top laner especially. FPX can pull any trick from their sleeves.

I'm also a personal fan of DoinB. (Laughs) I also really like JD Gaming's Zoom and Top Esports' LokeN. This tournament is a perfect opportunity for me to meet the players that I like.

The LCK teams who are competing at the Rift Rivals this year have been playing really well recently. Is there a specific LCK team that you'd consider a rival?

Every LCK team competing this year at RR is strong. But I still think that our team will do the best.

If you do well at RR, Griffin's very first international tournament, you'll make a name for yourself as well as your team. How are you preparing for it?

The only thing on my mind is to win. I'm thinking of two different things for the tournament: to experiment with different picks and strategies, or to continue with the 'LCK playstyle', do well, and bring redemption to it. Depending on the situation, our team may do one or the other, or both.

Among your teammates, who do you think will perform the best at RR?

Tarzan. He's a consistent, skillful player. In a tournament that is filled with variables, Tarzan will play an important role for our team. Everyone else is also getting to his level, but Tarzan is the most reliable player on GRF.

As team captain, do you have anything that you want to say to your teammates?

The teams at RR will be tough. But if we do what we do best, everything will be fine.
