Former iG Head Coach Kim Jeong-soo Joins DAMWON Gaming

Kim Jeong-soo, former head coach of Invictus Gaming has signed with Damwon Gaming as a coach of the LCK. In previous interviews, Kim has said that he is not afraid to take challenges and announced that he will be serving as a coach for Damwon Gaming who has just been promoted to the LCK.

“Before Worlds, I told iG officials that I’ll do my best and leave regardless of the results.” Said Kim, implying that him leaving was decided even before Worlds. There had been rumors that said he was fired from iG, but he denied that completely.

Kim spoke up on his decision to return to Korea as a coach, “There were many offers from China including iG trying to persuade me not to go back, but I wanted to take a new challenge in Damwon Gaming.” He also added he wasn’t bothered by the fact that he had to step down from head coach to coach, “What I do is the same whether I’m a coach or a head coach.”

Lastly, he thanked the team authorities. “I’d like to express my appreciation to the head coach Kim Mok-kyoung and the CEO who said that they wanted me and contacted me so quickly.”
