After winning all four of his matches in Day 1 of the 2018 Asian Games, head coach Edgar answered various interview questions asked by the media.
Head coach Edgar emphasized that "it's important to not let our guards down." He also shed some light on the poor meals that were provided by the Asian Games hosts.
"We were watching out for China and Vietnam. Aside from our match against Vietnam, I'm very satisfied with how our team performed," Edgar said. Regarding the small mistakes made by the individual players, Edgar stated that he's glad his team didn't make any widespread mistake as a team.
Due to internet issues at the venue, both Korea and China were forced to endure a long pause during their match against each other. "The players did a good job of staying focused through the whole incident. It was a shame that the pause was so drawn out."
Through various methods, the Korean fans found out that the Korean national players settled their meals with only bread and water. They were outraged. Regarding the spreading rumor, Edgar stated that the bread was meant for breakfast. In addition, he added that esports is brand new for the Asian Games and that "it'll get better with time."
Lastly, Edgar concluded the interview with the following statement. "We did well in Day 1. I'd like for our team to not lower their guard and finish Day 2 with good results as well. We have a very busy schedule, so everyone is exhausted. There's not much left of the tournament, I'd like for all the players to hold on."
