Line Games (co-CEOs Cho Dong-hyun and Bae Young-jin) announced on the 22nd that it has released the final demo for its self-developed survivor-like game, 'Ember and Blade,' marking the start of the countdown to its Early Access launch.
The final demo for 'Ember and Blade' incorporates user feedback collected to date to improve the game's overall polish. In particular, the narrative has been deepened, with enhanced storytelling in the prologue and beyond to provide greater immersion in the game's world.
The combat system, the core of the survivor-like genre, has also seen significant improvements. The scale of the many-versus-one battles has been expanded, delivering the thrill of action as players defeat waves of enemies filling the screen.
Furthermore, character combat animations and balance have been fine-tuned to create a faster, more fluid combat tempo, maximizing the visceral impact characteristic of the hack-and-slash genre.
'Ember and Blade' aims to be a 'premium survivor-like' that combines the strengths of the survivor and Soulslike genres. It features an immersive narrative set in a deep dark fantasy world, paired with the excitement of annihilating swarms of enemies.
Beyond the typical conventions of the survivor-like genre, the game distinguishes itself by incorporating boss battles that require precise control and strategic decision-making, providing high-tension combat action.
Meanwhile, 'Ember and Blade' reached No. 1 in the Top Demos category on the Epic Games Store last October and was selected as one of the 'Most Anticipated Titles of 2026' on the platform this February. With this final demo, Line Games plans to conduct a final check of the game's unique features and complete the finishing touches in preparation for an Early Access release later this year. The company is also positively considering a release on console platforms in addition to PC.
A Line Games representative stated, "For this final demo, we focused on enhancing the core fun of the game by actively incorporating the valuable feedback sent by our users. We will do our best to ensure the final polish by conducting a thorough review of the unique systems and action that define 'Ember and Blade'."
The 'Ember and Blade' final demo is available to play on the Epic Games Store and Steam.
