Paper Rex capped a championship season by sweeping the 2025 VCT Pacific Season Awards, collecting six major honors following its titles at Masters Toronto and VCT Pacific Stage 2, organizers announced Monday.
The awards, presented by Riot Games, recognize top players, coaches and staff across the Pacific region of VALORANT esports. The VCT Season Awards were established in 2023 to formally honor competitive excellence across all major regions, including Pacific, Americas, EMEA and China.
The most prestigious award of the night, Player of the Year, went to ‘f0rsakeN’ Jason Susanto of Paper Rex. The Indonesian star was a central figure in the team’s aggressive, high-tempo style throughout the 2025 campaign and played a key role in both of the organization’s international victories.
Paper Rex head coach ‘alecks’ Alexandre Salle was named Coach of the Year, reflecting the team’s tactical consistency and long-term development over the season. The organization also dominated the role-based awards. ‘s0mething’ Ilya Petrov earned Duelist of the Year, while ‘d4v41’ Khalish Rushaydi was named Sentinel of the Year. Rookie standout ‘PatMen’ Patrick Mendoza captured both Rookie of the Year and Initiator of the Year, becoming the ceremony’s only double award winner.
DRX and RRQ Round Out the Individual Honors
Two players from DRX also received major awards. Veteran controller ‘MaKo’ Kim Myeong-gwan was named Controller of the Year after another season of consistent, high-impact performances in crucial rounds. Teammate ‘Hyunmin’ Song Hyun-min earned Most Improved Player, recognizing his significant development and expanded role within the roster during the 2025 season.
The In-Game Leader of the Year award went to RRQ’s ‘crazyguy’ Ngo Cong Anh of Rex Regum Qeon. The veteran leader was credited for guiding his squad through high-pressure matches and helping drive the team’s run to the VCT Pacific Stage 2 finals.

VALORANT’s global esports ecosystem is built around four international leagues—Pacific, Americas, EMEA and China—alongside a network of regional Challengers competitions. Teams from each league qualify for global events such as Masters and the Champions world championship, where the season concludes.
With multiple international titles and a clean sweep of the region’s top awards, Paper Rex enters the 2026 season as the benchmark for success in VCT Pacific.
