Riot Games have announced the location and dates for the final weekend of the 2022 LCS Summer Playoffs. The summer post-season will conclude at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, on Sept. 10-11.

The United Center, which is home to National Basketball Association franchise Chicago Bulls and National Hockey League Chicago Blackhawks, will be the first Chicago-based venue to host a League of Legends esports event since the quarterfinals of the 2016 World Championship, which were held at the Chicago Theatre. The three teams competing in the last two matches of the LCS Summer Playoffs will have already qualified for Worlds 2022 as the North American representatives.

As was the procedure on the final weekend of the 2022 LCS Spring Playoffs, a fan fest with live entertainment, food, and booths will also be part of the weekend for attendees to enjoy.

The LCS will also be working with three local youth outreach partners for the event — Youth Guidance, the Chicago Park District and I Play Games! — in an effort to provide a unique, behind-the-scenes experience to local students, parents, and educators. According to Riot Games, this will include activations at Fan Fest, backstage VIP tours, and access to a dedicated panel about esports careers and educational routes.

The 2022 LCS Summer Split kicks off on Friday, June 17 with 10 teams battling it out in an eight-week, 18-game, best-of-1 format. The top 8 teams will move on to the best-of-5 playoffs, culminating in the last two matches at The United Center.

Tickets for the final weekend of the 2022 LCS Summer Playoffs will go on sale Friday, June 24 at 10:00 a.m. PT, with a special pre-sale window on Thursday, June 23 at 10:00 a.m. PT for Mastercard holders.
