Roster swaps continue to shake up the 2021 League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split. Dignitas has announced that mid laner Max "Soligo" Soong will be sent down to Dignitas Academy, and in his place, DIG Academy mid laner David "Yusui" Bloomquist will be starting in the LCS for the organization.

DIG is the third LCS team to make a recent roster swap after Cloud9 and Team Liquid's respective benching of star players Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen and Barney "Alphari" Morris.

Dignitas got a strong start to the LCS Summer Split, winning its first two games against Evil Geniuses and FlyQuest before dropping a loss to 100 Thieves. Though only three games have played, Soligo was a big part of DIG's success in the first week of summer, but the team has decided to go a different way for the time being.

Yusui's promotion to the LCS with Dignitas will not be his LCS debut. In 2019, the mid laner started briefly for Echo Fox's LCS squad during his tenure on FOX Academy, which lasted slightly longer than a calendar year. Yusui played for Team Liquid Academy in 2020 before being signed to DIG Academy for 2021, and as a veteran of the North American scene since 2014, the mid laner will be looking to maintain previously untouched longevity in the LCS.

Dignitas is the only roster in the LCS that features five North American starters, and with Yusui in for Soligo, that fact remains. Right from the start of the 2021 League of Legends esports season, DIG's greatest asset has been the team's cohesion, which has often allowed the squad to exceed expectations as a result of being more than the initially perceived sum of its parts. DIG's ability to retain that with Yusui will be put to the test this week against Team Liquid, Immortals, and Cloud9.
